Definition of Safai Karamcharis/Scavengers and their dependents

A person who is wholly or partially employed/engaged in, for any sanitation work or in Scavenging/manual scavenging is Safai Karamchari/Scavengers and members of family who depend upon the Safai Karamchari/Scavenger, are their dependents.

SCHEMES

Schemes in collaboration with "National SafaiKaramcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NKFDC), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJ&E), Govt. of India, New Delhi".

The loaning scheme is for socio-economic upliftment of Safai Karamcharis/scavengers category persons, to establish income generating units.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA PRESCRIBED BY " NSKFDC"

Applicant should belong to SafaiKaramcharis/Scavengers category.
Applicant should be permanent resident of the J&K U.T.
Applicant should be unemployed
Applicant should have necessary skill/ experience/knowledge in the activity/ trade applied for.
The applicant who intends to avail loan for purchase of vehicle should have valid driving license.
Applicant should not be a defaulter of any bank/ financial institution.
The "NSKFDC, New Delhi has not fixed any income criteria under its schemes. However, the preference will be given to the persons living Below Double the Poverty Line .

Educational loan Scheme for Safai Karamcharis/Scavengers category students

The corporation in collaboration with NSKFDC is providing Educational Loan to the students of the target group for pursuing professional /Technical courses in India and abroad, at the following funding pattern :-
