Organisation Objectives

The prime objective of the Corporation is to work for socio-economical and educational upliftment of its target group people and to provide better self employment avenues so that they can become economically dependant and self reliant members of the society. Infact the J&K SCs, STs & BCs Development Corporation is to work as a catalyst to create adequate income generating activities for under privileged target group people of the state viz. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Notified National Minorities, Safai Karamcharis/ Scavengers & Handicapped (Male).

The other objectives of the Corporation include:

1. To do and undertake, the task of socio-economic and educational upliftment of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Notified National Minorities, Safai Karamcharis/ Scavengers & Handicapped (Male) in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
2. To manage, establish, operate and conduct establishment, undertaking and enterprises of any description whatsoever to facilitate or accelerate the development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Notified National Minorities, Safai Karamcharis/ Scavengers & Handicapped (Male) in establishment of income generating units in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
3. To provide loans to the members of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes for commercial purposes, viz Auto rickshaws, Mini buses, Taxies or any other kind of vehicles.
4. To Plan, promote and undertake either on its own or in collaboration with any other organization as may be decided by the Board of Directors for augmenting resources of the company and providing employment to them in respect of such programme and projects as may help in providing employment to them and in marketing, processing, supply and storage of agricultural produce, small scale industry, building construction, transport or any other industrial activity, business trade or like-wise.
5. To provide financial, technical, managerial, marketing or any other assistance or guidance to any other establishment, undertaking or enterprises likely to facilitate or accelerate the development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Notified National Minorities, Safai Karamcharis/ Scavengers & Handicapped (Male) in the State.
6. In pursuance of the aforesaid objectives and also in consonance with the Articles and Memorandum of Association, the Corporation can identify the deserving beneficiaries, sponsor their cases to various banks in accordance with the “SERVICE AREA APPROACH” for financing, enabling the members of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes to establish income generating units with Bank Assistance.
7. The Corporation can undertake a wide range of activities for socio–economic upliftment of the weaker sections of society belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, Backward classes, Notified National Minorities, Safai Karamcharies/ Scavengers and disabled/ Handicapped. It also provides funds under the Direct Financing Schemes in collaboration with National level corporations viz NSFDC, NSTFDC, NMDFC, NBCFDC, NSKFDC & NHFDC New Delhi, to persons whose income is below double the poverty lines in various trades, viz Transport, Small Business, Agriculture, Service and Allied Sector / activities etc.
