Schemes for Handicapped (Persons with Disabilities)

There is no Caste criteria for Handicapped/Disabled persons. All male handicapped(Disabled Persons) who are permanent residents of U.T. of Jammu & Kashmir with physical disability of 40% or more, unemployed and minimum age is 18 years, are eligible for grant of loan under the scheme. The Disabled Soldiers and their Dependents (who are having 40% and above Disability) are also eligible for obtaining loan under the scheme.

Schemes for Persons With Disabilities(PWDs) in collaboration with "National Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation (NHFDC), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJ&E), Department of Disabilities, Govt. of India, New Delhi "

The schemes is for socio-economic upliftment of eligible Persons With Disabilities(PWDs) category, to establish income generating units for their Socio- economic upliftment.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA PRESCRIBED BY NHFDC

Applicant should belong to Handicapped( Physical Disabilities) category.
Applicant should be permanent resident of the J&K U.T..
Applicant should be unemployed
Applicant should have necessary skill/ experience/knowledge in the activity/ trade applied for.
The applicant who intends to avail loan for purchase of vehicle should have valid driving license
Applicant should not be a defaulter of any bank/ financial institution.
Besides above mentioned eligibility criteria for Handicapped persons, the Disability should be 40% & above and age should be above 18 years.
NHFDC, New Delhi has not fixed any income criteria under its schemes. However, the preference will be given to the persons living Below Double the Poverty Line.
Disabled Soldiers and Dependent of Soldiers (who are disabled) with disability of 40% and above are eligible for obtaining loan under NHFDC's schemes.

Educational loan Scheme for Physical Disabled students

The corporation in collaboration with NHFDC is providing Educational Loan to the students of the target group for pursuing professional /Technical courses in India and abroad, at the following funding pattern:-
